Farouk Jivraj

Farouk is head of alternative risk premia at Fidelity Investments within their Asset Management Solutions platform.

Farouk has over a decade of experience on both the sell-side and buy-side in researching, designing, implementing and executing systematic strategies and portfolios of such, across asset classes. Farouk joined Fidelity Investments in July 2021 from Barclays, where he was head of quantitative investment strategies research and origination, leading the buildout of the QIS R&D platform and driving origination efforts globally. Previous to this, Farouk was a quantitative and derivatives strategist at Morgan Stanley where he developed equity smart beta and multi-asset risk premia strategies.

Farouk received a Ph.D. in financial economics and a Masters undergraduate degree in aeronautical engineering, both from Imperial College London, where he remains engaged as a visiting researcher and lecturer. Farouk lives in London with his wife and two daughters and enjoys being active as a family playing tennis, skiing, biking and golfing.
