Gabriel Salinas

Gabriel Salinas is a senior investment associate in the Multi‐Asset Strategies Group at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, the largest public retirement system in Texas and sixth largest in the U.S., serving more than 1.5 million public education employees and their families. The Multi‐Asset Strategies Group manages systematic equity and macro‐asset portfolios for the Trust.

Gabriel serves as a senior researcher for TRS’s Alternative Risk Premia portfolio, a diversified set of factor premia strategies implemented with equities, bonds, currencies, and commodities. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas where he focused on public finance. His dissertation examined the role of pension incentives on retirement decisions and has worked at TRS for four years.
