Community fundraising is a fantastic chance to get together with those you work with, live near or share interests with to support our work that positively changes the lives of people affected by spinal cord injury. Read on to find out how.<\/p>\n

Fundraise for us<\/h2>\n

We\u2019re constantly impressed by the unique ways our fundraising community raises essential funds for us. There are many ways to support us, whether you want to shave your head, plan a car boot sale or organise a coffee morning.<\/p>\n

Our philosophy is \u201cno idea is a bad idea\u201d. Remember that fundraising should be fun, and not everyone\u2019s idea of fun is the same, so be sure to do what you enjoy. Think about what you\u2019re good at and use that as a starting point.<\/p>\n

Get inspired by Jacqui’s fundraisers<\/h2>\n

Jacqui was injured at C4\/5 (incomplete) after falling down the stairs in 2009. At the time she was a full time teacher, army wife and busy mum to two young children. She spent several months as an inpatient at Stoke Mandeville Spinal Centre.<\/p>\n

Each year as a family we try to help other families like us, whose worlds are turned upside down, and who will start their own fight to rebuild their lives as we did.<\/blockquote>

Jacqui<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Since then, Jacqui has done lots of fundraising for us, starting with walking the 96-mile Jurassic Coast from Exmouth to Dorset. She’s also organised a raffle through her Instagram profile that raised over \u00a37,000. She said:<\/p>\n

‘Each year as a family we try to help other families like us, whose worlds are turned upside down, and who will start their own fight to rebuild their lives as we did. I know that SIA provides the best support system and community within which to do that.’<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
