Yusuke Suzuki, the Daiwa Scholarship Homestay Olympian, breaks the 20km race walk world record

Japan’s Yusuke Suzuki broke the 20km race walk world record at the Asian Race Walking Championships in his home town of Nomi on Sunday, 15 March, exactly one week after Yohann Diniz set the previous mark.

Yusuke Suzuki world record, websiteFormer Daiwa Scholar, Michael Reddish met Yusuke while on the Daiwa Scholarship programme as, during the one month ‘homestay’ component of the programme, he stayed with the Suzuki family in Ishikawa Prefecture.
