Hans Brinckmann, author of ‘The Undying Day: Poems by Hans Brinckmann’, read a selection of his poems followed by translations by Hiromi Mizoguchi. There was also a discussion on the writing and translation of poetry.

This first seminar in the 2012 series, ‘Leadership: People and Power in the UK and Japan’, drew on examples from history to set the scene for a year-long discussion of leadership issues in both countries.

Akiko Takizawa is a Japanese artist based in London. The exhibition, ‘Over the Parched Field’, showcases a selection of Takizawa’s photographs since 2006, including new works made especially for the exhibition. This is Takizawa’s first solo show in London. The artist was introduced by Dr Simon Baker, Curator of Photography and International Art at the Tate Gallery.
