Bonhams is recruiting an Administrator, Japanese Art, Reporting to the Head of Department for their New Bond Street Offices. Apply by 18 July 2018.
Key tasks and responsibilities will include but not be limited to property care: maintaining control of all items/property for sale and keeping an orderly stock system whilst handling the items carefully, sale contracts: ensuring correct input of client information; vigilant of all sale requirements and procedures, including compliance with import and CITIES regulations.
Liaising with clients via telephone and email; liaising with regional and international representatives to ensure prompt advice of estimates, reserves, sale dates and property status and update of the client database. Responsible for shipping matters: packing and sending of property directly and communicating with the necessary departments.
This position will maintain the administration for the department such as, sending pre-sale information letter and post-sale results letters to clients; managing re-offers, sold and unsold items; proofing catalogue entries. In addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed, the administrator may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
The administrator will be required to be flexible with working hours i.e. weekend viewings, attendance and/or working late during sale deadlines as and when required, fluent Japanese (spoken and written) with proficient English, exceptional organisational skills, time management and computer skills.
