Daiwa Scholarship alumnus, Carl Randall’s D-Day veteran portrait painting, commissioned by HRH Prince of Wales for The Royal Collection, will be on exhibition at Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh, January 15th to March 28th.

The exhibition Last of the Tide (exhibited at Buckingham Palace June 2015) showcases 12 portraits of veterans of D-Day, inspired and commissioned by HRH The Prince of Wales following his attendance at the 70th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy. Carl has said of the project, “The commission had personal significance for me as, during my 10 year period in Japan, I was also invited to meet and paint survivors of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. It was an honour to paint survivors of World War 2 in both the UK and Japan.”
