Daiwa Scholarships and Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies: Information Session

We will be holding a talk about the Daiwa Scholarships programme and Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies on Thursday 27th September at 3pm at Daiwa Foundation Japan House.

The Daiwa Scholarships are aimed at future leaders in their fields who will derive personal and professional benefit from an in-depth experience of Japan. The programme comprises Japanese language study in the UK prior to departure for Tokyo, a 12-month period of Japanese language study at Waseda University in Tokyo, a 1-month homestay and a 6-month full-time work placement. The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation covers UK-Japan travel, tuition fees and living expenses amongst other benefits. No previous experience of Japan/Japanese is required. The Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies is a postgraduate Scholarship programme to support the study of Japanese Studies in either Japan or the UK. The programme is open to UK citizens who hold or are completing a degree in Japanese Studies, defined as a course focussing primarily on the study of Japan, and containing a substantial Japanese language component. The Scholarship will cover university fees for the course in question, plus living expenses. This presentations will provide prospective applicants with an overview of both Scholarship programmes and an understanding of the application process. After the talk there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
