Categorised under: Other News
The ‘Experience Japan Exhibition’ will be taking place on Friday 25 November at the Royal Society in London. The event, which is being hosted by Keio University (Japan) and co-hosted by the British Council, will introduce the various study and work opportunities available in Japan to a UK audience. The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation will have a booth at the event and a representative will be available to talk about the Daiwa Scholarships and the Daiwa Foundation Small Grants and Awards.
The focus of the event will be the provision of information on the various programmes of study offered by the 17 participating Japanese Higher Education institutions. There will also be a chance to find out about the variety of scholarships and research funding available to enable students to take advantage of these learning opportunities. The event will introduce other programmes that allow young British people to experience Japan, such as the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET) and volunteer programmes. The seminar line-up offers participants the chance to hear directly from people with experience of studying and working in Japan. There will also be a session by a leading academic on the regeneration of Japan as well as a guide to Japanese pop culture.
The aim of the event is to further the internationalization of the UK student body by showcasing the various options available to experience Japan, and so to boost student exchanges between the UK and Japan. It also hopes to provide a stage for Japanese institutions to demonstrate their recovery from the earthquake and tsunami which hit the country in March 2011.
