Former Daiwa Scholar publishes award-winning memoir

Former Daiwa Scholar (2012-2013) Eluned Gramich’s memoir of her homestay on the Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido Woman Who Brings the Rain has been published as an ebook after being awarded the WWF Cymru Prize for Writing on Nature and the Environment in February at the 2015 New Welsh Writing Awards. A tale of folklore, loneliness and beauty with the elusive “Fuji of the north” Mount Yōtei (羊蹄山) at its centre, her memoir won the award under the title Scenes of a Hokkaidan Life.
