Kizuna: Japan | Wales | Design

Kizuna: Japan | Wales | Design is the latest exhibition to open at the National Museum Cardiff. The exhibition showcases Japanese design and culture, with a huge variety of objects ranging from the traditional, such as eighteenth century painted screens, inro and netsuke, to the contemporary, such as twentieth century ceramics and digital cameras. The exhibition also celebrates Wales’s role in the exchange of Japanese art and design, with Japanese objects that have been in the UK for centuries on display, including a lacquered coffer that has been at Chirk Castle for 400 years.

The Kizuna exhibition was supported by a Daiwa Foundation Award.
