“Kyō-mai, geisha-style dance: see it, try it!”, Friday 16 November 2018

A combined concert and workshop by Shinozuka Zuiō of the Shinozuka school. She performs in Buckingham Palace on Tuesday 13 November; then on Friday at SOAS, she will introduce kyō-mai, a dance genre related to both Kabuki and geisha. She will perform for 30-35 minutes, then teach her audience – women and men – to dance some of the basic movements of kyō-mai.
