New WEA Course on Japanese Literature Starting April 2013

The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is pleased to be hosting the first season of WEA courses about Japanese Literature.

Negotiating a Peace: Post-War Japanese Literature; C2416676

This course will explore the impact of Japan’s defeat in the Pacific War on writers active both before and after the cessation of the conflict. We shall examine questions of cultural survival and identity and the repositioning of the author’s role in the newly democratic Japan.
