"Positive Energies" at Gallery@Oxo, 16 to 21 May 2018, raising awareness of Down's Syndrome

From 16 to 21 May 2018 at Gallery@Oxo in London, Fumio Nabata, Richard Bailey and Fiona Yaron-Field will be holding a photography exhibition, Positive Energies to raise awareness of Down’s Syndrome.
Nabata’s work will feature photographs of children with Down Syndrome, taken in a variety of countries including Japan, Myanmar, South Africa and the UK.
Bailey, a key member of the exhibition, “Shifting Perspectives” which has toured to seven countries, will exhibit photoraphs of adults with Down Syndrome.
Yaron will exhibit portraits of pregnant women whose babies have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
The three photographers’ fundamental purpose is based on Act 8 of The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD – designated at the UN General Assembly in 2006 and ratified by 160 countries including Japan) – “To raise awareness throughout society, including at the family level, regarding persons with disabilities, and to foster respect for the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities.”
The exhibition will run from 16 to 21 May 2018 at Gallery@Oxo, South Bank London.
