Win tickets to a see a new "Hokusai" play by Amon Miyamoto
Win tickets to the stage reading of Fanatic Artist Hokusai at the British Museum on 27th July 2017.
Fanatic Artist Hokusai is an original play showcasing the later life and chaotic yet passionate lifestyle of Japanese art master, Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849)
Directed by renowned Japanese director Amon Miyamoto, Fanatic Artist Hokusai tells a fictional story based on historic events mixed with imaginative interpretations about the artist’s work, in addition to a surreal plot twist. The play was first conceived as a collaborative project with the Sumida Hokusai Museum in Tokyo, and is expected to continue development into a full production.
The stage reading performance at the British Museum will feature projected images and commentary on many of Hokusai’s recognisable artworks, and will be performed by six Japanese actors.
