Crossing Boundaries: Art, Design and the Creative Industries
Daiwa Foundation Japan House
Organised by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation
This seminar focused on design links between the UKand Japan, both from the perspective of the designer operating in an international context and the British and Japanese agencies that encourage and support cooperation in this sphere. Government policy on the creative industries has highlighted the benefits and the potential for wealth and job creation through raising the profile of those industries which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent. How that talent may be nurtured and channelled through international contact and exposure represents a challenge for both the UK and Japan.
Organised in association with The Japan Society and JETRO.
