From Tuesday 15 June 2021, the Japan House Gallery will reopen to the public, with the current exhibition, Beauty and Power by Mika Ninagawa, on display until Friday 30 July (weekdays only, 10:00-17:00). Visitors to the exhibition are required to book in advance and follow COVID-secure protocols while attending. Full guidance for these COVID measures can be found here.
The rest of Daiwa Foundation Japan House remains closed, with facilities including the library unavailable for use until further notice. Externally-organised events or classes which normally take place at the Foundation will not be hosted while the building is closed. Though our on-site seminars and other Daiwa Foundation events are not possible, we are continuing to host a series of online webinars.
We are also sending a monthly newsletter to our subscribers, The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation’s Monthly Inspiration, which includes a variety of resources including recommendations, book reviews, and essays by the Foundation’s staff and Trustees; past editions can be found here. Archive copies of the previous weekly iteration, the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation’s Weekly Isolation Inspiration, can be found here.
