Categorised under: , , ,

Tomoko Yoneda, a Japanese photographer from Akashi and now residing in London, has featured in many exhibitions all over the world from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to La Maison Européene de la Photographe in Paris.

Her pieces explore history from the viewpoints of the less influential through the forgotten memories of every day life. The photographs are backed by much research and local knowledge which gives each piece a personal touch and allows for an unusual emotional connection.

Yoneda, who previously held her solo After Amnesia exhibition at Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation in July 2005, is now exhibiting at the Venice Biennale as part of the group show Unattained Landscape at Fondazione Bevilacqua La Mase until 20 October 2013.

This new group show features pieces by many other artists of many different nationalities and artistic genres, such as literature and audio as well as photography, all brought together by their common theme of identity in Japanese culture.
