Leadership: People and Power in the UK and Japan
13/14 Cornwall Terrace, Outer Circle (entrance facing Regent's Park), London NW1 4QP
Organised by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation
This year-long seminar series focuses on debates on leadership in the UK and Japan and the structures, systems and people that may contribute to change. The March 2011 crisis in north east Japan has called into question Japanese society’s future direction and our perceptions of what it means to be Japanese. Meanwhile, in Britain, a coalition government and dual leadership of the ruling party has revealed the fault lines in a country where the gaps between young and old, rich and poor and urban and rural remain pronounced. The series will consider the role of politicians, educators, business leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and engineers in influencing the societies of the future.
