Kathleen Reilly, one of the 2019 Daiwa Scholars, is an artist and metalworker. Having completed her one year of Japanese language study at Waseda University, and her one-month homestay in Niigata Prefecture (Sado Island), she is now undertaking the 6-month work placement section of the Daiwa Scholarship. She is based in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata. She has been based at Ohizumi Bussan for six months, during which time she also spent two weeks at Suwao Plating. Her current working life was featured on Japanese TV and can be seen in this 13-minute film. It is a real treat to watch! The TV show is まるどりっ! – UX新潟テレビ21 a Niigata prefecture morning television programme.
