The talk took place at the Swedenborg Society in Bloomsbury, central London.
In this illustrated lecture Carl gave an insight into his series of Japan paintings, and his decade living in Tokyo as an artist.
Aspects of the talk included Carl discussing the idea of documenting Japanese culture and society through painting, and his motivation behind wishing to do so.
As well as this, his artistic influences, composition and design, process and development, pattern-making, and picture-making in general were also discussed.
