The inaugural London Mural Festival will launch in September 2020

The London Mural Festival is confirmed to start in September 2020 with over 150 global artists heading to London to paint more than 40 large-scale walls across the capital alongside a plethora of smaller activations. The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is supporting travel to participate in the festival by three Japanese artists: Fate, Imaone and Suiko.

Lee Bofkin, CEO and Co-Founder of Global Street Art, the organisation behind the London Mural Festival commented, “It’s important that London Mural Festival goes ahead this year, showing the enduring nature of human creativity. It’s been a hard year for everyone and continues to be, but hopefully, we can bring a smile to people’s faces and brighten up the streets.”

As well as painting some big walls across London, there will be associate events.  A 100-artist hoarding jam will take place at International Quarter London (IQL), Stratford, in partnership with the developers LCR and Lendlease. The hoarding jam will stretch over 500m in length and will close the festival on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October.

Wembley Park, North West London’s world-famous cultural neighbourhood, will unveil its LMF commission as part of its new site-wide public art trail, which launches this autumn.

Other partners include Camões I.P, Czech Centre, EcoWorld London, Forever Beta, Hungarian Cultural Centre, Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, Rich Mix and Zippo.
