Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation funds harpist and hip-hop

The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation has announced details of its grants awarded to support UK-Japan projects in its latest funding round. One project supported is a visit by Japanese harpist Naoko Yoshino and composer Toshio Hosokawa for performances in Edinburgh and Glasgow of a new harp concerto by Hosokawa in October. Funding is also given to the Japanese hip-hop dance group Capliore to perform in Liverpool, Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh in July.

'Richard Hawkins: Hijikata Twist' at Tate Liverpool until 11 May 2014

Discover the work of contemporary American artist Richard Hawkins in Richard Hawkins: Hijikata Twist, his first museum exhibition in the UK. The exhibition at Tate Liverpool brings together new works by the artist, exploring the ways in which classic Western figurative painting can be interpreted or ‘twisted’ to create ideas far beyond the established ideas of art history. 

The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is delighted to be supporting educational activities related to this exhibition.

Last day, 23 January to see  ‘Hisachika Takahashi: Antwerp 1967/Brussels 2013/Liverpool 2013 – A time-travelling exhibition initiated by Yuki Okumura’. 6 December 2013–23 January 2014 The Exhibition Research Centre welcomes the third installation of a series of patterned glow-in-the-dark canvases by Hisachika Takahashi (born Tokyo, 1940), curated by the artist Yuki Okumura (born Aomori, 1978).
