世界で活躍する写真家であり映画監督の蜷川実花氏が、桜や金魚の象徴的な写真から、最近の「写ルンです」シリーズやパラリンピック選手のポートレート等、自身のアート作品について語ります。また、パンデミックの中で写真家としての活動をどのように調整してきたか、社会的距離感についての考え方や世界観についても探ります。司会は、アシュモレアン美術館キュレーター、フリッチュ・レーナ博士が担当。
蜷川実花氏の作品は、2021年7月29日から、アシュモレアン美術館「TOKYO: ART & PHOTOGRAPHY」展にて展示予定。同氏によるパラリンピック選手のポートレイトは、現在Daiwa Japan House Galleryにて展示中。

In 2019, supported with a Daiwa Foundation Award, ten primary school children from five Coventry primary schools travelled to Japan. The pupils collaborated with five schools in Japan on Olympic-based projects. Outcomes of the project have been far-reaching, including a Japan Arts Festival in Coventry, an Olympic Torch relay between 60 Coventry schools, a Japanese Peace Garden and further Japan-related education.

Daiwa Scholarship alumnus and artist Carl Randall has been selected for this year’s ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, with a new painting ‘On the Horizon (After Lucas & Kuruganti)’. The event, sponsored by ING bank, is usually held at The Mall Galleries in London, but this year due to coronavirus is held exclusively online. The exhibition runs until 31 December 2020, and all works are for sale.
