The WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) for Adult Learning will be operating a course with the support of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation. This course will help to develop an understanding of the Japanese artistic and cultural approach, providing knowledge about key aesthetics and other essential issues relating to Japanese art and culture.

In response to the 11 March 2011 earthquake and tsunami in the north east of Japan, the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, in partnership with the British Council in Japan, launched a £250,000 scholarship fund to support Japanese students in the Tohoku region. The deadline for applications is 31 August 2011.

The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation was delighted to support this day of Japan-related events conceived by Jah Wobble and his team. Donations for free workshops were sent to the relief fund for Japanese communities who have been affected in the recent natural and environmental disasters. Most of the workshops were free to attend though Joji Hirota’s drumming performance and Jah Wobble and his Japanese Dub Orchestra were ticketed events.
