2011 Daiwa Tohoku Scholar, Jun Murayama’s Study Abroad Experience at the University of Glasgow

Mr Jun Murayama – one of the 2011 Daiwa Tohoku Scholars –  is studying Western History at Chuo University and was working on a dissertation on Scottish nationalism (‘The Relationship between the Gaelic Renaissance of and Scottish Nationalism’) at the time of applying. He has just finished a year of study at Glasgow University. Family day at the Golden Hinde this Sunday, 29 September 2013

Praemium Imperiale 2013: Antony Gormley and Sir David Chipperfield amongst the laureates

Yesterday, Tuesday 17 September, the five new Praemium Imperiale laureates were announced in London, Rome, New York, Berlin, Paris and Tokyo. British sculptor Antony Gormley and British architect, Sir David Chipperfield were among the five awardees and in attendance at a generous reception, celebrating 25 years of the Prize and the 2013 recipients, at the Embassy of Japan in London. Both British laureates have long-standing bonds with Japan.

The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is pleased to be hosting another season of WEA courses about Japanese art, culture and society commencing 23 September.  The two courses will be held on Mondays.  Art History: An Introduction to Japanese Art and Culture will be held on Mondays from 11:00am to 1:00pm and Art History: Great Masters of Japanese Art will be held on Mondays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
